The Pirsein Family: Mitchell State Park '10

Summer has went by so fast. We just took our annual camping trip to Cadillac with our friends. Hard to believe summer has come and gone. We went in on Wed. afternoon, it was a beautiful day! After we got set up we took the kids to play putt putt & ride bikes. Thursday the rest of the crew came in. Around 2pm it started to rain, and rain, and rain. Terential downpours at times! We were able to sit outside under our canopy for awhile but eventually had to venture inside to keep dry. We officially had one of the worst sites. By 9pm our site was flooded. Everyone else around us stood dry, besides our neighbors behind us! It wouldn't have been so bad if our entry way wasn't under water but we were ankle high in water. So we made the best of it and the next day put the kids in their suits and away they went. They had a blast, but the water began to be enough for me!! Once it started to receed, it got muddy. So trying to keep the kids out of the mud was almost impossible! But they had fun while it lasted. It didn't rain the whole time a little more on Friday & Sat. was beautiful. By Sunday it was 100% dry, of course, the day we were leaving.
